Another thing, now Agamemnon is saying that Cassandra’s prophecies helped him win battles? Two things, she was a Trojan princess who was taken AFTER the fall of Troy. In addition, she was cursed to never be believed when she spoke of the future. She did not have the time, desire, or even the ability to help Agamemnon win battles.

This retelling describes Cassandra as haughty, disdainful, and entitled. Tóibín described her looking around, “as though this were a country that in her dreams had always belonged to her and had become real merely to satisfy her.” She was cursed by Apollo to see the future, but never be believed, and she knew she would be murdered. This fact and her description do not line up. Does this bother everyone else?
