I actually loved n&g, but at the same time the way the book was written I feel like I couldn't quite get close to them? like I read their story, I was privy to nessa's thoughts at least, but still they feel kinda distant? idk loved 'em, but it could've been better ig🤷🏻‍♀️

also the writing itself was good, but the scenes jumped around too much for my liking? to the point where it was at times even hard to follow? like we would be in one scene, but then n thought back to something that happened and then we'd be back to present? That sorta thing and I gotta say I didn't love it. this is reason no.1 for rounding down my rating rather than down, followed by the aforementioned distance I felt with G&N & their rs (despite lovin' them both as individual characters & their rs)

also also, gray's dad? Jack daddy? Daddy Jack? Sir? Can like, get it👀 wouldn't mind if he were to get his own book, just sayin'

oh ALSO (lol) the pregnancy bit? Felt so unnecessary? Like it didn't take up too much time so I wasn't that bothered by it, but like? They are both very smart people, who are pretty set on not wanting to have kids (at least definitely not now, if ever) so i even if they went at it like bunnies (lol get it? anyways) I'd think at least N would be smart enough to take steps in preventing that unwanted pregnancy. and ofc sometimes accidents can happen even if you take those precautions, but still for a smutty werewolf novella was it really necessary to include? I don't think so (it just took up a number of pages they could've spent boning instead lol + unwanted pregnancy & abortion could be a trigger to some people, so it's essentially putting off potential readers and for what? A couple pages of it & then it's never even mentioned again?) anyway it was a short bit, so I didn't mind too much, but honestly could've done without it

also no.? Upon reflection maybe it's not that they + their rs felt distant? Its that G did, like you could tell he caught feelings after a while, but we don't really see him acting on it ig? Like they sorta fell into a stable rs, while at the same time she constantly felt like she had to keep him chasing or he'd lose interest? And we don't get his pov + what we get from Nessa's leaves a lot to be desired? So tho I think they make a great couple, it's based more so on what I imagine, filling in the blanks, and less so on what we actually see in the book (which was honestly rather toxic, and the lack of communication was ugh)

at least he could've taken her to bora bora in an epilogue or sth lol

(anyway they weren't perfect, but I did like them and tbh I came for the smut, (which delivered) so the fact that they managed to get me invested in more is a W in and of itself lol)
