Very informative and helpful already. Strongly recommend to Step and Foster parents as well as biological parents who are in a relationship with someone who is not their child’s biological parent. She also makes very valid points that are helpful to adults who grew up in traumatic situations and/or homes. Definitely a gem! She’s dropping nuggets. #NeedNewHighlighter

She hits on a plethora of key points and gives many tips based on her opinion and years of experience as a Foster and Step Parent. This isn’t so much a “How-To” to be followed and mimicked but more so a guide full of experiences, possible scenarios & potential solutions. Of course it’s up to us to choose what methods work for us and our unique family dynamics but this book provides a solid base to build upon

Moving right along! Same review and opinion so far. Pushing through because I’m away on business for the next two days. My goal is to finish this book before I return home to my beautifully blended family (Whom I’m missing like crazy 🥹) with more helpful tools in my bag. Done reading for now, as I’ve hit my 20 pages per day goal but who knows? Might turn a few more before I 😴 stay tuned! ✌🏿

Upgrading into a better person and parent with every turn of the page. There’s a huge reward that comes with understanding. We as human beings don’t always take the time to simply understand. Who people are, why they do the things they do. It’s essential to development and becoming a functioning member of society in my opinion. Pride and emotions aside. A little empathy never hurt anybody!
