I just finished this. Very satisfied with this historical fiction story! Glad that she was able to even escape with Curzon and now she and he are going to find Ruth. anyways I'm sure they would have been able to find her. She was doing something very risky for she was a slave, but still had the courage and persistence to carry on.

So spoiler, in chapter 26. I did not suspect that Anna Lockton was deceiving the two and purposely gave them a "good" supper that night for Isabel to sleep heavily while her sister was sold! I still think it's outrageous how Isabel had to spy and give information but was lied to and was punished instead for being "insolent" which is truly absurd. I have so much to say but I hope that Isabel and Ruth reunite again.

I am on Chapter 21 right now and glad that Ruth and Sal (Isabel) have finally been able to gain some peace after their tiresome work and the sudden "invasion." Furthermore, hopefully, they will be able to get back home soon.

Currently on Chapter 10 | I feel bad for what Ruth and Isabel have to deal with. Especially because I don’t think what the Locktons are doing is wrong. Although I hope things get better for the two siblings.
