This is turning out to be slow reading, not because it isn't good- because it is, very good- but because it's so relentless. Just when you start to get a handle in things and go "ok, this isn't so hard, it's not that bad" the author kicks your legs out from under you and says "yes it is, and it's SUPPOSED to be. Keep reading!"
