Mdisho is still not transformed from the tribesman to the servant that the Europeans want him to be. If I was the german burning the paper and I saw Mdisho come to me like that I would be scared and probably just shocked so I would stand still and Mdisho would chop of my head. Also, I am excited to read about Dahl being a pilot in WW2.

What a great ending with these chapters. I was surprised at how Dahl was able to escape Syria and Palestine without dying. I thought he would fight his way out of the situation some way. Another part I found interesting was when he almost got beat up by the soldiers. Why would they want to go around beating up officers? Finally, i could not imagine being gone for three years and seeing my parents again.

This chapter was very interesting for me! I thought it was hilarious that Dahl almost shot down the plane that would later save his life by taking him to Alexandria. Also, I thought the part where Dahl and Coke calculated when the Germans would come to ground strafe was very cool, but when they didn't change the time of takeoff, that seemed odd to me and that move cost them dearly later on.

What a mess in Greece! The air Force has to protect half of the British Mediterranean fleet from being bombarded. How would they expect seven planes to even put up a fight against 1,000 planes of the Luftwaffe. It is a miracle right now that Dahl and Coke are still alive. I am excited to see how Dahl will get out of Greece

My goodness, I cannot believe how many german planes there are in Greece compared to the British 7 now. It would of been fascinating and scary to be one of the Greek Peasants watching the Battle of Athens.

What a chapter! It was amazing hearing how much of a mess Britain was in Greece during WW2. Also, the story with the Ju 88s was amazing, he was so lucky to escape from 6 bombers and actually take 1 down as he chased.

I can't believe that he would have to lay down on a bed for with bandages for the time that he did. Also if I did not do something for five months, I would probably be bad at it. Finally, how did the commissioner a the airfield tell him the location, if it was "no man's land". I feel the commissioner should no where to send pilots to.

I found this chapter uneventful but very informal and I found out a lot about Dahl's training as a pilot. A fact that I found shocking, was that no fewer than 13 of the training pilots died in the next 2 years. Absolutely amazing! Also I would hate to be in a hot, horrible place like Habbaniya, Iraq for 6 months.

What a fascinating chapter! I was very interested in the details of WW2 that he gave before the war started, how the German civilians fled away from British lands, and how it felt to live in Africa before the war started. I also liked comparing Dahl's and Mdisho's views on war. Dahl was very nervous before the war and Mdisho would love to be in his position.

I loved this chapter, like the rest of them! I was particularly intrigued about the the snake-man. To live in Africa for that long, and to being working with some of the most dangerous snakes in the world, he is a smart man.
