In "The Hobbit" the part I was most surprised about was when bilbo risked his life to go back and save his friends. First of all they aren't really his friends and second bilbo isn't the most brave hobbit there is but he risked his life by going back into the goblin cave and saving the dwarves and Gandalf

I'm at the point in the book where the real adventure starts, battling goblins, climbing rock giants, and riddle-battling unfortunate gollums. It seems to me that bilbo doesn't want to be on this adventure and the dwarves certainly don't want him here either but Gandalf continues to insist that bilbo is of importance.

I'm really liking the hobbit so far. My mom has been trying to get me to read this for ages and I'm glad I'm reading it now. At this point bilbo is deciding on whether he's going to go on an adventure with the dwarves and Gandalf. At this point it is very internal conflict.
