Jayson
Jayson is finished

Issues #26-30:
(1) Well, that was anticlimactic. Twists and turns that'd been a series hallmark were reduced to a straight line, seemingly running on autopilot.
- That's not to say that it wasn't good. The good exists in the psychology of it all, which isn't nothing.
(2) As crazy as the last book ended, this resolved everything in the most low-tension, mundane way possible.

Alexandra Elend Wolf Wait, this series is by Vaughan? Is it any similar, in any tiny way, to Saga?

P.S. I've always wondered how you manage to post this, I'm assuming, screenshots of the comics you are reading? It's such a fun way to update comics but I cannot figure it out for the life of me T_T

Well, it's similar in the sense that they're both sci-fi and employ the usual Vaughan storytelling elements and style. Though, it's his attempt at writing a YA series, so things are dialed back a lot from the expected envelope-pushing you find in Saga. I'd actually compare it more to Y: The Last Man, another of his series, in that it's a lot less sprawling, and more focused on its core group of characters.

As for my updates, you're correct, they are just screenshots I take of the comics I read. All I do is press the "print screen" button on my keyboard, which copies the screen to the clipboard, and then I crop, save, upload it to a photo storage site (I use Imgur or Dropbox), then take the image URL and post the pic in an update.

Oh, that sounds pretty nice, I do love a tight group of characters. I must say that not seeing Vaughan "pushing the envelope" is a weird thought for me... which makes me all the most curious.

Ahh, that makes sense. I figure you would screenshot it but I was not sure if you had a way to just put them on the site directly... which was not likely but I was wondering XD It does seem like a fair bit of work but not too bad...

Thanks so much for the tip! It has been most helpful :D

Well, I will say that it does push the envelope a bit for a YA series about 12 year-olds. Mostly it's hard cursing, (view spoiler). I don't read much YA, so perhaps those are more common than I know. The violence is definitely on the milder side, no heads explode or anything.

It goes really quick once you get used to it. Really, the most tedious part is choosing a picture :)

Oh wow *widens eyes* No, you are right, that is pushing the envelope when dealing with 12-years-old... I would even think that it's more leaning toward a hard Middle-Grade book, because of the age of the characters, but it's still a harsh YA... I am VERY curious now XD

Hahaha, I can see why that would be, but considering that I've done this in my mind half a dozen times already I don't think I'm gonna have too much of a hard time with choosing a picture XD Thanks a lot, again!

I guess it also depends on how sensitive people are to harder subjects. This is definitely something, if you're a person so inclined, to slap a trigger warning on. Still, comparative to what we expect of Vaughan, it's rather tame. Regardless, happy I could pique your interest :)

My pleasure, happy to help 😁👍

Yes, that is always a rather sensitive and delicate subject, ain't it? And one where is always better to be safe and slap a few good warnings for new people with this author XD Us, Vaughan veterans, don't need them as much, I suppose Lol.

Exactly. Not desensitized per se, but we've built up a tolerance for it... like people who are really into trying the spiciest hot sauce :)
