This is a big fat DNF for me. I clearly don’t get what everyone loves about it.

Ulrika I struggled a bit with this one. I listened to the audiobook version which made it easier to digest. Overall I must have enjoyed it (I gave it 4 stars, though I can't say I remember why) but I haven't been in any rush to read the sequels!

I tried to read this a while ago and felt the same.

Asia You got farther than I did. I stopped when I realized I didn't even understand what was happening.

Wick Welker The second is one of the best sci fi books ever written imo

Profesore Minerva Maksūra I have tried reading it three times! Three times and I can't get into the story, which saddens me, because the idea behind is something that interests me.

chump. Lol oh shit. It's a slow burn and I enjoyed it, but I can definitely get DNF'ing it.

chump. Its definitely way more plot driven than character driven. Characters are basically cardboard cutouts.

EricLozada I'm almost done with the 2nd book. It's interesting. I wouldn't say I love it. But, it keeps me thinking about it.

Isabelle Dead DNF or just for now?

Pedro Bessa Try to push through till where he starts seeing numbers in front of his vision, the beginning is a bit weird i'd saybut after the time skip it starts getting really interesting

Algernon tastes vary, that they do. But I always feel special/fortunate when someone doesn't like something I loved. Like I can see more colours people are blind to, or enjoy a flavour people can't taste.

Isabelle @algernon get off your high horse

You got me all wrong my friend. It's not like that. It goes both ways like people who enjoyed the Silmarillion are capable of enjoying things i can't, so we switch sides regarding what i said.

message 15: by G6 (new) - rated it 5 stars

G6 Keep going until you get to the second book. One of the best if not the best scifi ever writen.

Marie Chalupová It has very long set up. It gets a lot better but honestly the whole first book can be considered set up for the greatness that comes after. Idk what part you reached but I would push through bit more.

Nancy Omg you have to continue! It's a lot of build up but then the payoff is amazing! Book 2 and 3 are absolutely epic. Wish you could give it another chance.

Fíonn Kirwan Characters must be piss poor for such a quick put down.
