Awww I like that Johnny Rose from Schitt's Creek is who the author posits as the aspirational example of the bumbling sitcom dad trope. Coz vs similarly bumbling sitcom dads like Homer Simpson, Johnny Rose is bumbling without being downright incompetent or a man child, and he's caring and good-intentioned rather than oblivious.
