now THAT'S awful and creepy and why would you just drop it like that

This book is a beast. I really have to go back at times to earlier references of characters and my head is filled with facts about this fictional family
It really is like a history book
But at the same time I don't want to put it down, I'm so curious and intrigued by the characters and what is going to happen with Rowan and Michael.

I feel like if anyone who does not enjoy history would read it, they would get insanely bored of the record-style narration at this point

Maybe it's me reading too slowly and other stuff in between for uni but I find it very difficult to remember what occurred in the beginning of the story. I just know I'll have to read this at least twice before I can fully appreciate the intricate story telling. But I don't mind that, if I know the book is good

I thought Lestat desiring his mother was bad but Petyr and Charlotte are next-level incest

Lasher using Antoine's body like a suit while the old man is still consciously trapped inside is one of the creepiest things I have ever read.

"Charlotte [...] gave a soft laugh, and said, 'Oh, he is very far from dead.' Then a horrid sound startled the entire company, for at the top of the stairs, or somewhere very close to the head of it, the old man gave forth another loud terrible laugh."

I wish some things would have been more slow burn but no other person writes scenery quite like Anne Rice. I am in love
