The next day Starr and her family check on the store with an insurance man while they're still debating what they want to do next. Ultimately they choose to rebuild it after Mr.Lewis the neighbor says he's retiring and wants to give him the store so they can have a nice big place to shop at. Cops end up arresting King and raid his house.

Starr wants to get away from everything happening so she goes over to Chris' house. She ends up falling asleep and waking up to a phone call from Seven saying Devante has gone missing and that he's on his way to pick her up. Chris and Starr go to Seven to Kenya's house where Vante is at. They take Kenya and Lyric to her grandma's house and then go to the protests after finding out Khalils killer didn't get convicted

Starr is at her uncles house celebrating Seven's graduation and birthday. Apart from her normal family she also invited Chris and Maya who both finally met Kenya. Everyones enjoying themself until Iesha, sevens mom, shows up but doesn't stay long since Seven gets into a fight with her and makes her leave.

When starr goes back to school she sees Hailey and Maya standing and talking together most of it consisting of Hailey rolling her eyes and Maya being the talker.When she goes up to them Hailey hands her 2 pictures one of Khalil's mugshot and a birthday picture.She tells Starr to apologize for lying to her about not knowing him and some other disgusting things about Khalil, Starr gets fed up and finally punches Hailey

As Starr is sitting with her family in the living room a car passes by shooting at their house luckily no one got hurt. Uncle Carlos is called to talk with them but gets in a fight with her dad Maverick and leaves. The next day is when she's going to talk to the Grand Jury so she gets up early to a house full of people. At the courthouse, she's asked all kinds of questions about Khalil and the night he was shot.

At school Starr hangs out with her friends Maya and Hailey. When they get to class Chris, starr's bf, was there waiting for her they start talking then he reaches out to touch her she flinches remembering the cop was as white as Chris. After school Seven, Sekani, Layla, and Starr are in the car, a car with a white cop pulls up everyone instantly freezes and straightens up. Until he leaves they continue driving.

Starr wakes up after a nightmare with Natasha and Khalil. She gets up to go get water but her uncle Carlos and parents are discussing whether or not she should speak to the detectives they eventually see her and she decided she will speak to them. The next day she goes with her parents to see Khalil's grandma Ms.Rosalie

A cop pulled over Khalil and Starr, he ended up shooting Khalil 3 times. By the time the ambulance arrived he was dead. At home Starr is still sick getting nightmares of what happened. In the morning she goes with her dad Maverick to his store since its a Saturday and her mom doesn't want her to be alone.
