Except for the science mumbo jumbo, I like it. The family dysfunction is unexpected. Curious how the plot will progress as the book hasn't spelled out exactly what is going on yet.

Just basic introductions, no plot yet, but I like the writing. Crichton's intro was a waste of perfectly good paper and ink, though.
