Y'know I told myself I'd get into some more fiction. This is fucking good. Though it sometimes looks like he's describing everything more detailed than anyone needs just for the sake of flexing his realism, the moment we got a look into the character's brains, emotions, thoughts and also Tolstoy's thoughts, I've started to LOVE it. Like, this man made me wanna desire love while I've avoided love for my whole life.

I only got 30 pages left wtf.
Should finish this giant tomorrow, the review will.... it will follow, idk when, but it'll follow.
Also, he just explained the fact that man's purpose is way beyond the understanding of our feeble minds by explaining every purpose of a bee from multiple point of views. Tolstoy sure likes to compare shit that shouldn't be compared to bees to bees, doesn't he.

I just keep going with these updates, don't I?
" 'Can fate have brought me to her so strangely only for me to die?... Is it possible that the truth of life has been revealed to me only to show me that I have spent my life in falsity? I love her more than anything in the world! But what am I to do if I love her?' "
Context: He's dying with the woman he loves next to him. Sounds corny, but it's just really good.

Tolstoy just spent nearly an entire page explaining the abandonment of Moscow with bees. He basically said: 'The abandonment of Moscow was like this thing with the bees, *goes on to talk in an awful lot of detail about bees*.
ALSO, that shit wasn't even important to the plot, he made a comparison, then just flexed his bee knowledge for way too fucking long. WHY, TOLSTOY? WHY? Still love him, tho.

Starting to think it'd be better if me and Tolstoy take some time apart for a week or 2. The end of Volume 2 was absolutely great tho. But I've got so little time to invest in this book, I didn't even finish writing down the quotes in my notebook. Anyway, we'll get back to this giant in two weeks and then finish it around the end of June! Never gon' happen but I can hope!

"Ah, my friend, it has of late become hard for me to live. I see that I have begun to understand too much. And it doesn't do good for man to taste of the tree of knowledge of good and evil..." (page 614)
Should be able to get to the last volume (page 648) by the end of the week.

IT'S ALL TOLSTOY'S FAULT! HE MADE ME INTO THIS HOPELESS ROMANTIC! Nah, but the funny thing is that I always thought "meh, love, I don't have time to bind myself to a person I'll vaguely get to know at best and who will vaguely get to know me at best, cause I'm an introvert who avoids social contact and thus love." And then Tolstoy stepped in being like "HEY LOVE IS COOL INNIT! LOOK AT ALL THESE FUCKING PEOPLE ENJOYING THEIR LIFE BECAUSE OF LOVE! I SAID LOOK YOU FUCKING IDIOT, LOOK!", And now I'm like, "ye sure it's kinda cool I guess", with Tolstoy still being like "I KNOW IT'S COOL, NOW PLEASE CONTINUE READING ME AND LOOKING AT LOVE BEING COOL!".
