Maybe it's the poor translation that adds to my confusion while reading this, but Murakami's writing is so odd. The first story was especially weird, and whatever message I got from it still left me dumbfounded. Besides that I thought the second story was great. The toxicity of love and sex is always an interesting topic and I think it was done pretty well
