I like this book so far! It highlights many cultural and political differences that took place over fifty years ago. The main character's name is Lu, who is just now discovering her fire-raging passion for running. There is also an election for Alabama's new govenor, one who I would describe as racist, and the other who's Lu's family supports. Also, Lu is biracial (I think).
