Loving the conception of the character of the Doctor and that from early on they decided to portray him as a humanist as oppose to a renegade xenophobe who wants to destroy humanity. If the latter happened then DW never would have lasted for 50 years at all.

~Doctor Who repeatedly exploited political, social, scientific fears that were prevalent in British society for the purposes of entertaining an actively engaged television audience. It may have looked like a science-fiction adventure show in which an oddball, eccentric but well-meaning alien tackled creatures from outer space, but Doctor Who was taking note of the audience's real-world fears and reflecting them back~

Just like with Supergods, I plan to make this a nocturnal reading material in the coming weeks alongside the fictions I'm also caught up in. I've always wanted to know more about DW history especially after watching at least five documentaries about it in the past.
