Reading 'Tropic of Capricorn'. This feels less manic than 'Tropic of Cancer' so far.

Just finished Tropic of Cancer. Feels like I've just gotten off a roller coaster.

The only thing Miller seems emotionally invested in is his book. I don't know if that frustrates me or makes me empathize with him. Loving him for the things he leaves unsaid.

- If you remember that Miller's goal is to live in the moment then all the crazy things that happen to him don't seem so absurd. - Street cred! :D Miller obviously wants to be taken seriously as an artist and to him that means suffering. I wonder if it meant physical and financial suffering for all artists in Europe? Also funny how he celebrates his friends for their suffering then reviles them when they don't.

One more reason to go to Paris - to wander the streets like poor starving Henry Miller.
