Leyenda by Romina Garber 5/5 Considering the news we got today from the Supreme Court (Still in shock tbh) I think this story hit hard. The main theme is how even on the magical society of Brujas and Lobizones, women are still not equal to the men and our main character is against it. I've been wanting to read this author now I'm even more motivated to do it, I loved the tone and the narrative.

White Water, Blue Ocean by Linda Raquel Nieves Peréz 4/5 IMO This was in the realm of magical realism and for me it's all about getting that eerie feeling when reading it and this story definitely gave it to me. Reading about family dynamics no matter if they are good or bad it has always been interesting to me and it was a big part of the story. It speaks of themes of sexual identity and colorism in latam families.

Eterno by JC Cervantes 5/5 just wonderful! The Characters, the plot, the structure of the story. It packs a punch in so few pages.
I've never read anything from this Author, but I do recognize some of books from Rick Riordan presents. (side note I used to think JC Cervantes was a male author *u* oops)

This is Our Manifesto by Mark Oshiro... 4/5 Okay from the moment I read Ramona Quiñones misses pupusas. I knew I was gonna be bias lol. I had seen this author's books before, but I had no idea he was Latinx or that he had central american roots. I found this story to have a cathartic narration "We are the children you tried to throw away" I was new for me, but I liked. I'm now intrigued

The Tin Man by Lilliam Rivera. 4/5 I’ve been meaning to read some of her books. I liked how this one was more like “the end of humanity” than “spacey”. The setting was very realistic and interesting (so close to reality) But so heartbreaking. Definitely reading something of her in the future.

The First Day of Us by David Bowles. 2/5 This is my first time reading anything of this author. I liked the setting of the story, it gave me Starship Troopers vibes a bit.

Flecha by Daniel José Older 5/5 Sad and Funny at the same time wished it was longer. I had forgotten how much I like DJO narration. I need to finish his Shadowshaper Cypher Series!
