One more story to go. I’m really impressed with Fragoza’s versatility and depth. Her stories feel all of a piece, yet they cover very different perspectives and styles. They remain mysterious and open to constant possibility. And the language is beautiful.

Bill Clark at Literarity Books turned me on to this handsome little volume of short stories. Otherwise, I may never have read it. But so far the three gems I’ve endeared myself to have been terrific stories of a side of Chicanahood that I always knew was there but somehow missed in my life. They’re tough and smart and wise and rash. Carribean Fragosa is a find.
