Orwell surveys boys weeklies. Pretty much what comic books, cartoons, television shows, etc would be today. He considers them right leaning propaganda. People who read these book made to identify with those who are much richer. Centered on a very naive view of someone I. 1910. Nothing ever changes. The foreigners are comic. No attempt to place characters in modern ideologies. Analysis holds up today.

Orwell pegs Dickens as: 1) Moralist (as opposed to revolutionary) shame on the powerful for abusing their power. 2) narrowly focused on the home life of the bourgeoise class. No one really works. No one is really rich or poor. Really never thought about dickens this way
