Pre Christian Jews saw themselves as a race separate from the non religious and the Greeks. They were very much in constant conflict with the geeks who sought to assimilate Jews into Greek culture. Jewish people only believed in one god but the Greek people insisted they also believe and show respect to their gods. Christianity began as a Jewish sect who believed salvation could not be obtained by observation of law

It’s interesting that the gospel of mark moves like a very modern fast pace movie with many cut scenes that lead up to what it really focuses on; the last few days of Jesus life his arrest and death resurrection.

Why were the gospels written after Paul’s letters? Why do their similarities match as if they were directly copying each other word for word? Why do they contradict each other In the multiple accounts of the resurrection? Why do the early gospels explain who god and Jesus are but the later gospels don’t and assume the reader is familiar ? How’d they know what Jesus said while no one else was there ?
