Now after getting information about where the locket may be, the trio starts planning their infiltration of the Ministry to try and retrieve the locket from the person who is supposed to have it, Dolores Umbridge. They had to put three people to sleep and get their hair to take their place in the minustry to blend in with everyone. Hermione put her person to sleep by giving her a laced candy with a sleepinng spell.

After Lupin leaves after arguing with Harry. Kreacher, the house elf, returns with Mundungus. Harry interrogates him, asking about the locket, to which he responds that it was taken from his possession by the Ministry, he assumes. Not knowing that it has a magic to it that cannot be used in legal magic terms. So they let him go, know reading that Snape has become the new Headmaster of Hogwarts.

Lupin arrives at the home, catching up with Harry after everything that has happened after the wedding. How Harry was followed by two Death Eaters, and how Kingsley saved everyone that couldn’t make it out of the wedding by disapperating. Lupin says that the two Death Eaters outside don’t know they are there, only stalking the area because it has a connection to Harry.

During their stay, they encounter the houses elf, to which the trio interrogated to find where the real locket horcrux is, which Harry found the replica of in Half Blood Prince. The elf speaks up and says that Mundungus, they Harry clone that was with Mad Eye Moody was with when he died. Mundungus had taken it to try and dispose of it but had no luck at all to do it. So Harry sends out the elf to find Mundungus.

The trio moves to a safer location, now becoming aware that a new Trace could’ve been put on Harry to track him by the Death Eaters. They go to the former Order of the Pheonix headquarters to where they find many spells and illusions meant to scare of Snape if he would ever try to return to the building. There Harry finds a photograph of his father back when he was in Hogwarts, with Lupin, Sirius, and Pettigrew.

Now chatting with old folk that Harry ran into, he reveals his identity only to them, who talk to him about the unknown sister of Dumbledore, and how she was cast away, just like Harry, but for the opposite thing, for not being magical. While they continue talking, a Blue Patronus lands in the middle of the dance floor, uttering that the Ministry has fallen, and the new Minister of Magic has died.

After the minister argues with the trio about Dumbledore’s will. He leaves, to where they finish cleaning up for the wedding. At the wedding, Harry takes a large amount of Polyjuice potion to appear as a relative of Ron, to keep himself hidden. Many close friends come to the wedding, including the Quidditch player Viktor Krum, who Ron isnt’t very fond of. Krum notices Harry but as another person.

Harry’s birthday goes well, a cake shaped like the golden snitch, the size of a beach ball. Lots of presents too, but their party is interrupted by the Minister of Magic, he has come to fulfill the will that Dumbledore has left, leaving items for Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Harry’s first snitch that he ever caught, a ancient book for Hermione, and a Diluminator for Ron, a small silver piece that absorbes all light.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione talk about what the horcruxes actually are and how they work, until they are interrupted by Mrs. Weasly, who asks them to help her with presents. In the morning, Harry is reminded by Ron that he is finally 17, excited, Harry casts spells all around Ron’s room. He goes downstairs with the sight of a lot of presents marked for him. Everyone gives Harry a happy birthday.

After George’s injury, and Mad-Eyes death, the reamaining order decides to start setting up Fleur and Bill’s wedding, to kill the time left of Harry’s 16th year if age, and once he’s 17, the tracker that’s on him will break, letting him freely roam to search for the Horcruxes they need to destroy. All of them talk about what could happen if the Death Eaters would come and torture their families for info.
