For all of our vaunted efficiency in the making of things, our economy is still incredibly wasteful.This waste comes not from the inefficient organization of work but rather from working on the wrong things -- As Peter Drucker said, "There is surely nothing quite so useless as doing with great efficiency what should not be done at all." And yet we are doing the wrong thngs efficiently all the time.

Startups are different: too much budget is as harmful as too little.

The wisdom of the five whys

"Product/market fit": the moment when a startup finally finds a widespread set of customers that resonate with its product (term coined by Marc Andreessen)

"Four ways past customers drive sustainable growth: 1. Word of mouth 2. Side effect of product usage 3. Funded advertising 4. Repeat purchase or use"

"Sustainable growth is characterized by one simple rule: New customers come from the actions of past customers"

"Thus, it is not the customer, but rather our hypothesis about the customer, that pulls work from product development and other functions. Any other work is waste" 결국 목적 지향적으로 가야한다는 얘기인 것 같은데, unsupervised learning이 주는 benefit도 많다고 믿기 때문에 동의할 수 없다.

"I recommend that every startup have a regular 'pivot or persevere' meeting"

Metrics should be: "actionable, accessible (understandable), and auditable"

"You have to commit to a locked-in agreement -- ahead of time -- that no matter what comes of testing the MVP, you will not give up hope." 이건 스타트업이든 연애든 뭐든 마찬가지인듯 ㅎ
