As of August 2021, Afghanistan, for the first time, is in the top slot for where Christians are most persecuted. I learned this from Open Doors today after reading about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being thrown into the furnace for their faith in Daniel 3. I'm going to use the Open Doors prayer guide to pray for persecuted Christians all over the world. I'm so thankful to live in the USA.

Even though Belshazzar knew of his father's pride and how God harshly dealt with it, he was still prideful and reckless with God's holy artifacts. God OPPOSES the proud. I do not want Him against me! Help me fight for humility daily, Lord!
