If I was in my book, my relationship to the main character, Thomas, would be that I am another one of the kids stuck in the maze. When Thomas first realizes that he is stuck in the maze, the text states that he was surrounded by dozens of other kids who's ages were mixed. The kids didn't really explain why he was there, so I would tell him how he got there, and offer him advice because he feels alone.

In my book, when the other boys in the maze tell Thomas about the monsters that come out in the maze at night, I realized this is developing conflict. The monsters, known as Grievers are described as"half goopy spiders, half machine monsters". These monsters are what prevent the boys from escaping the maze, and will play a big role later on in the story.

This book is written as a journal. I know this because it shows the adventures and experiences that Thomas has. We see things through his perspective, and he is telling the story. We see what he thinks of the encounters and situations he has.
