Racism was a secondary, not primary cause of the holocaust. That's what I gather so far from this book. The primary cause was scientism, and it was not Hitler but the medical community and scientists that were the root cause. The idea was that Jews were genetically carriers of germs. That idea was applied to Jews, but the same rationale could be applied to any group, it doesn't need to be a group differented by race
