The Count frequently reminds us of the virtues and nuances of class life in his contacts with various people. Apart from him, we can voluntarily examine and identify the aspects of Bolshevik life that are intolerable.

I've only read a tenth of the book, as I previously noted, the author believes it essential to glorify and bemoan the aristocratic lifestyle without hesitation. Regardless of the content, the book's format has so far been unremarkable. Boring and superficial stereotypes serve adolescent audiences who are simple-minded. Everything about aristocratic life is lovely and doable, and there is nothing cruel about it.

So far, I've read a lament for a count who is proud of his lack of employment and his delicate wit. He has learned to avoid confrontation with authority and never considers why he has the right to eat if he does not work. Some newly arrived Bolsheviks stand before him, plundering this protagonist in the name of the oppressed—a protagonist who plainly has the author's backing.
