This is starting out very, very basic, for the home cook who thinks, "Well, it's time to burn dinner." But it's pretty neat for me personally that one of the authors is named Kathy, and has a Japanese mom and European-American father. She was raised in a kitchen that sounds a lot like my childhood kitchen.
