I noticed that Greg is dealing with family issues that most people could face with a younger sibling. And with an older sibling, the middle child has to also deal with the oldest so it shows Greg as not perfect but a person that can persevere.

I noticed that Greg and his family are totally different as his older brother Rodrick picks on Greg as he's younger but the youngest doesn't get picked on as he might cry ad get Rodrick in trouble. It's a tactic that works but isn't very fair as Greg has to deal with Rodrick being a bratty older brother to Greg.
