I first saw the film at College back in 1970, and knew that I HAD to find the book. I found an affordable movie "Tie-In" copy, that the author had dedicated to RICHARD BARTHELMESS...who was the star of the picture. The sad part of the story is that it had never been read...and apparently not even opened. This is sad, for it fairly CRACKLES with life, and sadly, Death.
