Questioning that the authors "have not included survey respondents who are nonwhite" in their fixed vs fluid examinations. I'm wondering whether some of the survey design has forced this choice - for instance, asking whether immigrants threaten job security is probably more neutral than whether immigrants threaten traditional American customs (which assumes whiteness of those traditions). Other factors to be sure ...
