At times a harrowing read. The conflict that started a century ago, that pitched both mine and my wife's grandfathers into a holocaust was inevitable. The war leaders wanted it sooner rather than later and Franz Ferdinand was a feeble excuse for the Hapsburgs to assault the Serbians and the dominoes started to fall, one by one.
