"Grasshopper" is Cliff's name for slinky, sexy, tall girls who are all elbows and kneecaps. He calls them that because when they wrap their long legs and gangly arms around you, it's like fucking a grasshopper.
But Cliff thinks the idea of fucking a grasshopper is sorta sexy. So for him, it's a term of endearment.

It's like that old expression, the only people who don't like riding horses are cowboys.

While everybody in the stunt community knows Cliff Booth is Rick Dalton's stunt double, it's not the thing he's most known for.

When Charlie drove out from San Francisco to Los Angeles, it was with the purpose of getting his music published, his songs recorded with him singing them, landing a recording contract, and then finally becoming a rock-and-roll star.
