Oh to have a friendship as pure as Anne and Diana’s. Those two make me jealous of not having such a friend at that age. Also I’m in love with the writing the more and more I read the more and more I want to hear of the trees changing color and the way the river moves. “Gilbert Blythe has hurt my feelings EXCRUCIATINGLY, Diana” - Anne
Have to say that Anne expresses her emotions so beautifully in this book that I’m jealous I wasn’t as clever as her when I was her age. I love/hate Gilbert at the moment. The candy heart moment is on my top 10 pettiest scenes list and oh gosh does Anne loooove Diana. I’ve never met two friends who love each other this much!

Anne’s backstory is so tragic. Honestly I got all heartbroken over a girl who will inevitably get a happy ending. Quote I liked: “There is no use in loving things if you have to be torn from them, is there? And it's so hard to keep from loving things, isn't it?”
