Encountering not just "usual suspects" like Bellerophon, Oedipus and Perseus but also less well known characters like Kadmos, Pelops (the namesake of Peloponnesus) and so on. Interesting to learn how elaborate the genealogies of the Greek mythical heroes, were to the point most of those characters were at least distantly related to some other hero, and how many were famous largely as founders of specific cities.
