The case with "the woman" was a pretty short and simple when it came to following Holmes' thinking process. It was also pretty short when it comes to how much time the case took.

Discovering that the box was actually empty was a plot twist because I thought that Sherlock Holmes was the kind of story that makes the main character sound good. I was surprised that the mystery ended on a negative mooded note.

The story is a lot clearer now. I get the feeling that the main characters are gentlemen and the book has a lot of stereotypes about the Natives. It reminds me of social studies.

I'm confused why the story just switched to a group of nomadic people that just excepted two people into their tribe. But the story is still strangely absorbing.
