"...1905 Chinese boy-cotts against America sparked a furious nationalism that would eventually lead to revolution and then the cutting of ties...in 1949." What? That's a bold statement to make and then just move past. 44 years later is a long time to assume one event caused this. This is sounding like a bunch of baloney.

I'm interested in the historical accounts this book claims, bit I'm already worried that it will be tainted by the authors assumptions based on circumstantial evidence. He's already concluded that diplomatic relations in 1905 have caused unrest in Zamboanga 100 years later. That's a big leap.
