I wonder why Brodsky would have given himself up... It's weird that he would have started to run and then in the blink of an eye, decide to stop. I think that it is very mischevous.

The Soviet Union is a crime free paradise... I would consider that a lie, a kid was killed and they won't look into it because the government knows that it will get out that they are looking into a possible murder. I would hate to live there in this time period.

OMG this book is crazy, it starts very fast paced. I would hate to live in that town. I wonder how the fact that they're starving ties into the main plot?
