"Fine, I get it. Names have power and all that, but it makes it a bit hard to leave a message, don't you think?"

Desperado Ah. So you're finally going back to the kiddie porn. Good luck!

Kelly Heehee! Yeah, I basically got no reading done all last week. Long-distance BF came into town and then there was the holiday stuff.

The book is way better than the cover indicates. Very original.

Desperado =) Awww. You got to spend QT with the boyfriend. Definitely more important then staring at tweenage breasticles.

It's a relief to know that the book is much better than the cover. I'll wait to read your review-if you write one-before I add it to my TBR shelf. That's one of the many awesome things about having an ereader: you don't have to stare at the cover.

Kelly LOL, definite upside to e-readers, yes! :D I've been semi-embarrassed to be seen with this one in public.

Desperado LOL! That's how I felt when I was reading this book in class: Tempest Rising (Jane True, #1) by Nicole Peeler . Then there was the one time in high school when my MALE history teacher caught me reading The Cowboy Wild Ride / Cowboy in Paradise / Saddle Sore / Rodeo Man (Aphrodisia) by P.J. Mellor & asked me what it was about. I was like "You totally do not want to know."

Catherine I just recently bought Tempest Rising (Jane True, #1) by Nicole Peeler . I had thought it was a kid's book and had skimmed past it every time I saw the cover online. Some of these publishers really need to work on the impression their covers give. Like the old Sookie Stackhouse covers.

Kelly I've actually thought about comparing Tempest Rising (Jane True, #1) by Nicole Peeler to A Brush of Darkness--and not just because of the bizarre covers, even. I'm being reminded of Tempest Rising by the relative non-combat-monster heroine.

Catherine I haven't read it yet, but I'll keep it in mind when I do.

I like the old SS covers. =( I'm so sick of seeing all this True Blood shit when I've been reading SS before True Blood was even thought of. Hell, I was reading & loving it when it was still called The Southern Vampire Mysteries.

I didn't particularly care for Tempest Rising. I think it tried way too hard to be funny & fell on it's face.

Catherine They changed the series name? I prefer the old covers too. I'm used to them now and all my books are like that so I want continuity. But I still thought they were YA when I first saw them.

Desperado Yeah. It used to be Southern Vampire Mysteries but then they changed it because of True Blood, I guess. *shrug* Hmmm. I've never thought the covers were YA-ish, but now that you mention it...
