number 12) i think that the author wrote this story to tell people what people back then had to go through to save black people from being tortured and being treated like slaves and also what a slave had to go through to escape from their masters.

number 10) Thomas tells the story best because this is his life and it is happening to him and his sister but i don't think she would tell it best because she is like five years old and Thomas is like 12 years so i think he would remember it better then his sister.
