This is the chapter in which Gus dies. In a desperate attempt to remember Gus, Hazel calls his cell to listen to the voicemail and visits his social media accounts online. She is very sad and even angry, and most would be in this case.

THis is an interesting chapter because despite Gus's decaying condition, he is telling jokes. Also, the pre funeral concept was interesting and Isaac and hazels comments about Gus were interesting, especially the part about the small infinities.

The phone call at the beginning of the chapter I thought was going to say the Gus had died, but instead he is at the gas station with an infected G-tube and vomiting like crazy. This is again a good example of the pain and suffering that Gus has to go through.

Gus's case has gotten so bad that he can barely control his body, urinating himself frequently and not being even able to play. Video games for very long.

This short chapter is pretty much a typical day that Hazel spends with the weak Gus, and it is depressing at points reading about how terrible it is and how much suffering is involved.

This was a very deep chapter as Hazel reminisces about how Augustus has gone from the heroic Augustus to the weak Gus. Also, their relationship roles switch and now Gus is the grenade.

Why would somebody write this? It's very depressing. I thought. Gus was going to be find but then I found out that he has cancer in like his whole body. If the novel keeps up at this rate, everybody is going to get chance and die a slow painful death.

This chapter was a letdown because the author of "The Imperial Affliction" was a complete drunk head. He was very rude and acted strangely. Then, a fight erupts and Gus, Hazel, and the authors assistant goes to Anne's franks house, where they kiss. However, in real life, I think they would be kicked out from the house for kissing in it and there would definitely not be applause.

This chapter was cool because it describes what Amsterdam was like. It was interesting how the rooms were all named after philosophers, and the city itself sounded beautiful. However, it was sad when they talked about Caroline's behavior as her brain cancer got worse. I believe this is foreshadowing something in the near future of the book.

Hazel and Gus go to the airport for their departure, and Gus doesn't like people staring at him. This is Gus's first time flying, and though he is afraid at first, it amazes him. They watch the violent movie 300. However, I don't think there was much significance to this chapter. It seemed very straightforward.
