-clearly I am avoiding Howatch because Neville is already concerning.
-after having read the Hopkins chapter twice, I finally wanted to come back for the rest. Currently mid-Chesterton, which is quite fun.
-I hate the cover of this edition.
-thankfully, I’m reading the library’s hardcover copy, so they’ve removed the slipcover (praise be)

don't remember ever seeing that cover. Maybe I read a shrewder, savvier second edition
