Jess and Savannah finally forgave each other. They have been treating each other like trash during the whole book. Savannah was jealous of Jess because she was smart, funny, pretty, and had a good family. In that case, Savannah made smirks at Jess and made fun of her. Jess pretended that Savannah wasn't even there. Savannah got mad that she was being ignored, so she decided to try and be nicer.

The mother daughter book club just arrived in Gopher Hole. The bus ride was horrible. None of the pen pals talked to each other. Becca and Zoe were mad at each other because theyq got into an argument at the airport. The argument was about who's phone was the best. Emma, Cassidy, Megan, and Jess all had nothing in common with their eon pals, so they didn't say a word. So far, the trip to Gopher Hole was a mess!

Cassidy's mom was supposed to have her baby in a month, but that didn't happen. They were at a book club meeting and Cassidy's mom, Mrs. Sloane Kinkaid, wet her pants. She knew the baby was ready to be taken out. Everybody rushed to the emergency room and waited for the baby girl or boy. The baby turned out to be a girl and the Sloane family named her Chloe Elaine Slaone Kinkaid.

Since Emma is the Walden Middle School's writer for the newspaper, she just finished her monthly article. This article had to do with the Declaration of Independence and her opinion on school uniforms. She almost got suspended because her principal thought her article was not appropriate for school. Emma's dad saved this from happening because he told her principal about the pros on his daughter's article.

Megan's grandmother just got back from Paris. Megan wanted to go to Paris too, but she went to her school field trip instead. Gigi, Megan's grandmother, thought that since Megan couldn't go to Paris, she would bring Paris to Megan. Gigi brought home two luggages filled with little treasures from Paris. There were clothes, antiques, and accessories. Megan was so happy.
