at almost 40% the book is still refuting other's intepretations. I had agreed since the beginning pages that an alternative would be helpful. So far the alternative consists of only 1 or 2 sentences: that however advanced the markets of other places and times had been, it didn't generate 'market imperatives'. Still waiting to see what caused market imperatives in 17/18 cent England (and then dragged us all down)
