So far the second book in the series has significantly darker topics such as slavery and segregation, but does not stray from Todd and Viola’s original objective; to contact the rest of the fleet. Mayor Prentiss or President Prentiss is much more manipulative this time around. I think it is because he is speaking to Viola and Todd more frequently, but it is to the point where the reader is being manipulated as well
