Having a really hard time with this one. At least in Anne of the Island, Anne still seemed like a main character. Windy Poplers is mostly her relaying what's happening to other people to Gilbert. Seems like being engaged made Anne a passive observer rather than an active participant in her own life. Maybe it's because she's basically just WAITING until Gilbert is done with medical school??? Might skip to next book.
