I'm reading it because of the current film adaptation, which I haven't seen yet, although with Guillermo del Toro directing and Nicole Kidman acting, I have high hopes. The problem with Noir is the characters are seldom likeable, and this is no exception. Otherwise, it's an intriguing story thus far, creatively written.
