I can't stop thinking, "But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death." (James 1:14-15) I'm overwhelmed with thanks that there is a Way of escape and that freedom from flesh has been purchased for me.

This novel came up in conversation yesterday and I'd not read it in years- so here I go.
Lord Henry. Wow. He reminds me, a great deal, of Lewis's Screwtape.
I've been overwhelmed by the mercy of God as I read. I used to buy into Lord Henry's philosophy. I was a reveler in sin, always serving my desires, as though they were my right. How thankful I am that I've been set free from that bondage (Titus 3:3-7).
