This book continues to be fast paced and much easier to follow than The Lord of the Rings books. It seems like Bilbo just left his home, and now he is leaving Rivendell. I really enjoy the fast pace. I also enjoyed the method in which Gandalf tricked the trolls and made them stay out too long.

After reading the first two installments of The Lord of the Rings, I was surprised to see the fast pace of this book. So far, Bilbo has welcomed all the dwarves and is starting to contemplate whether or not to participate on the adventure. It will be interesting to see the process in which he makes his decision.
